<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow for television viewing and Web site browsing by means of a television receiver, while facilitating preferential display, selection and delivery of a content adapted to the preferences of the user. <P>SOLUTION: User-specific information such as attributes and Web information is stored and managed for each user 10 in an on-demand control center 50. When the user 10 designates menu display on the remote controller 20 of a television receiver 12, a menu screen reflecting the user-specific information or Web information is created, and its data is transmitted to an on-demand controller 30 so as to display a menu on the television receiver 12. When the user 10 selects a specific content, that content is provided from a Web site 72, or the like, and displayed on the television receiver 12.
