A body frame structure for a saddle type vehicle, which includes a pair of left and right main frames (12L, 12R) extending rearward from a head pipe (11), a down frame (16) extending downward from the head pipe (11), and a pair of left and right reinforcement members (35L, 35R) each provided ranging between the respective main frame (12L, 12R) and the down frame (16) wherein each of the reinforcement members (35L, 35R) is formed in a roughly U-shaped form in sectional view, ranges between the respective main frame (12L, 12R) and the down frame (16) in the state where an opening portion of its roughly U-shaped sectional form is oriented inward in the vehicle width direction, and has its end portions (36L, 36R, 38L, 38R) welded respectively to the respective main frame (12L, 12R) and the down frame (16). |
