<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sensor capable of identifying an object more minutely compared with the conventional one without causing increases in cost and size. <P>SOLUTION: The optical sensor includes: a light source 11; a collimator lens 12; an optical receiver 13; a polarization filter 14; an optical receiver 15; and a black box for housing them. The optical receiver 13 and the optical receiver 15 are arranged to receive P polarization components contained in internal diffusion reflection light and to mainly receive front face regularly reflected light, respectively.
