<p>An apparatus controlling a hearing device (21, 25) to recognise wearer gestures when the housing (2) is in an operating position. Reference electrode (3) coupled capacitively to a body area (6). Signal generator (30) provides an electric probe signal between the sensor electrode (4) and the reference electrode (3); a first measurement circuit (33) determines the impedance between the sensor electrode (4) and the reference electrode (3); a detector (34) recognises said gestures in dependence on the signal values; a control unit (38) provides commands to the hearing device (21, 25) in dependence on recognised gestures. The signal generator (30) provides the electric probe signal at multiple signal frequencies; the measurement circuit (33) determines the signal values at multiple signal frequencies; and the detector (34) recognises the gestures in dependence on changes in ratios between the signal values determined at different signal frequencies.</p> |
