<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for efficiently concentrating cells in a medium under slight load on the cells utilizing negative dielectrophoretic force. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus concentrates cells 7 in a medium 6 and includes: a cell suspension container 5 for holding a cell-containing medium therein; a piston-type vessel 1 movable relatively to the container 5; electrodes 2 laid on the bottom surface of the piston-type vessel 1; a through-hole provided in between the electrodes 2 and penetrating the bottom surface of the piston-type vessel; a power source 3 for applying alternate current onto the electrodes 2; a driving mechanism 8 for vertically moving the piston-type vessel 1 relative to the container 5; and an ejecting mechanism 9 for discharging the medium going, via the through-hole, into the piston-type vessel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
