Provided are: a culture medium information registration system, whereby it becomes possible to accurately perform the detection of colonies and the counting of the number of the colonies even when the color of a culture medium is changed compared with the original color thereof due to the contamination of the culture medium by a coloring component (a residue) originated from a sample such as a food, and it also becomes possible to register culture medium information including information relating to the accurately detected colonies and the number of the colonies in a database; and others. The culture medium information registration system and others are configured as follows: a statistical criterion is calculated on the basis of the color feature amounts of multiple pixels that constitute a culture medium image in a culture medium image data that is obtained by imaging a film-type culture medium having colonies formed thereon, pixels that satisfy a predetermined requirement are specified as pixels that constitute the colonies, and then the detection of the colonies and the counting of the number of the colonies are executed. |
