The present invention relates to N-(1H-pyrazolylmethyl)formamides of the general formula (I), where R4 = H, halogen, C1-C4-alkyl or C3-C8-cycloalkyl, R1 and R2 are each, independently of one another, H, C1-C4-alkyl or C3-C8-cycloalkyl, R3 is C1-C4-alkyl, C3-C8-cycloalkyl or C6-C10-aryl or H; a process for the preparation thereof, fertilizer compositions comprising them and also the use thereof for the inhibition or control of nitrification. The compounds according to the invention are suitable for the inhibition or control of nitrification in fertilizers, and they have, apart from the excellent nitrification-inhibiting action, a low tendency to hydrolyse and can, owing to their excellent solubility in water, be applied very readily, e.g. as concentrated solutions, to the fertilizer surface, e.g. of fertilizer granules. |
