The abrasion determining method involves locally introducing a road surface (6) to be tested on an inner surface (8) of a drum (1) as a cover plate or cover panels in a removable manner, where the road surface is weighed before and after test run. The test run is carried out in an air-conditioned room, where the covering panels are used at one point of the inner surface of the drum. The inner surface of the drum is overlaid with bitumen. The slip angle or the overturn of a studded tire (5) is selectable and adjustable. An independent claim is included for a device for determining abrasion of a road surface using studded tire in a test run by over traveling the road surface to be tested.
