The invention relates to an expanded material supporting body (1), particularly a plumbing supporting body such as, e.g. a shower pan element (D), made of particle expanded material, in particular, polystyrene particle expanded material (EPS). In order to further simplify a supporting body of the existing type, in particular, with regard to the construction thereof, an adhesion-promoting layer (8) applied to the shower pan element is provided, for example, as a base for a tile adhesive (9) or for the direct adhesion to a plumbing surface body located in the room. The adhesion-promoting layer (8) is directly applied to the supporting body (1) whose bulk density is selected so that the vertical forces exerted upon the plumbing surface during normal use do not lead to any deterioration of the adhesion. |
