PURPOSE:To enable intake to be stably supplied, by closing a timing valve before an intake port is opened when an engine is in idle operation, in case of the engine which advances closing timing of the timing valve, provided in an intake passage, earlier from the closing timing of the intake port when the engine is low loaded. CONSTITUTION:An intake passage 3, which is divided into a main intake passage 8 and a subintake passage 9 in the downstream aide of a surge tank 7, is provided, and an engine respectively provides a shutter valve 10 to be arranged in the main intake passage 8 while a rotary type timing valve 11 to be arranged in the subintake passage 9. And an intake device, as constituted in the above, controls the timing valve 11 to be opened and closed by a control part 15 so that a timing valve opening comes to be 0 before an intake port 4 begins to opened with an intake valve opening rising up from 0 when the engine is in idle operation. While a capacity of a part, communicating with a combustion chamber 23, is set larger than that in the past when the timing valve 11 is closed in the time of idle operation. In this way, a necessary quantity of intake for idle operation can be supplied. |
