An optical apparatus, 100, for manipulating light in an optical system (i.e. a filter wheel). The optical system comprises an optical input device, 104, (e.g a telescope or microscope) for inputting light and an optical processing portion (e.g. a sensor, camera or CCD) having an optical processor, 108, for processing the light. The apparatus comprising: means for mechanically coupling, 132, the apparatus to said optical input device, 104, (e.g a mount), and means for moving, 124, at least one optical component, 144, (e.g. a filter) between an aligned position and a non-aligned position . Also disclosed is an optical system with a transfer lens arrangement. The transfer lens arrangement comprises a first lens (figure 4a, numeral 610-1) and a second lens (figure 4a, numeral 620) and a further optical component, (figure 4a, numeral 144) placed between the two lenses. Also disclosed is a filter apparatus for filtering light in a camera system. |
