An anamorphic objective zoom lens has along an optical axis and in order from an object space to an image space: a negative (-) power spherical first lens group G1; an anamorphic second lens group G2; a spherical third lens group G3; a variable power fourth lens group G4; and a positive (+) power spherical fifth lens group G5. The objective zoom lens is configured to transmit radiation from the spherical fifth lens group to form a real image at an image surface S59. An optical stop S50 is located along the optical axis on the opposite side of the variable power fourth lens group from the spherical third lens group. The zoom lens may be used in a cinema camera and have zoom ratios that provide imaging over wide to narrow fields of view. |
