A torque wrench 2 comprises a head 4 for engagement with a workpiece and a handle 10 for applying a torque to the head 4. The handle 10 comprises: a body 8; at least two elastic elements 14,16(e.g. springs) disposed within the body 8; a connector 15 between the elastic elements 14. 16; and a torque adjustment element 18 for determining a compression of the elastic elements 14,16. The torque adjustment element 18 is slidably engaged with the connector 15 such that radial movement of the torque adjustment element 18 is limited. There may be an electronic display 12.
