The invention relates to a method for providing an underground thermally insulated storage; an underground thermally insulated storage; a construction part for a foundation and an underground thermally insulated storage; and use of this construction part. The method comprises the following steps of: A. forming an excavation in a ground by excavating soil material; B. placing in the excavation a construction part which comprises a plurality of chambers which are open on their upper side; C. arranging thermally insulating material in a lower part of the chambers in order to form a thermally insulating bottom of the thermally insulated storage; and D. arranging on the thermally insulating bottom a filling material which comprises a heat storage medium.
