<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new cermet, extremely useful as a cutting tool member, wear-resistant tool member, etc., which has excellent hardness and higher fracture-toughness compared with the conventional TiC-based cermet TiCN-based cermet, etc. <P>SOLUTION: In the new cermet including at least iron-group metal as a binder-phase, and at least one or more selected from a carbide, nitride and carbon-nitride of periodic table IVa, Va and VIa group metals as a hard-phase, further, the cermet has the peculiarity which includes Cu and/or Zn with the ratio of 0.4-20 mass% to the iron-group metal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
