PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial stone material and a manufacturing method thereof capable of providing an artificial stone material having strength equal to that of a natural stone material from electric furnace reduction slag and using the electrica furnace reduction slag efficiently.SOLUTION: An artificial stone material is manufactured through a process 1 of maintaining an electric furnace reduction slag produced by an electric furnace steel manufacturing method as a by-product at a temperature between 1380°C to 1410°C for 2 hours to 4 hours, and a process 2 of cooling the electric furnace reduction slag to 400°C at a cooling rate of 10°C/h to 20°C/h after the process 1, having a fiber lumpy structure formed by engaging a fibrous crystal, and containing melilite (CaMgSiO) of 50% to 65%, melilite (Ca(M1)(M2)O: where M1 is Al or Mg and M2 is Al or Si) of 35% to 50%, and other crystal of 10% or less as a mineral phase. |
