A machine tool attachment for cutting worms, gears, splines &c. comprises a motor 6 for rotating a first shaft 7 which conveys the drive to a second transverse shaft 12, both shafts being adapted to carry a tool or a chuck. The motor 6 rotates the shaft 7 through change-gears or a belt drive. The shaft 7 is mounted in a housing 2, adjusted vertically on a base 1 by a screw 4, and drives the shaft 20 through worm gearing 14. Both ends of the shaft 12 and the end 15 of the shaft 7 may carry tools. Helical gears may be cut by providing means for adjusting the shaft 12 angularly. The base 1 may be adjustable angularly. |
