A method for manufacturing a wet-laid nonwoven fabric using a polyarylate short fiber according to the present invention manufactures a wet-laid nonwoven fabric by putting a polyarylate short fiber bundle, in which polyarylate short fibers are bonded to each other on the cut surface thereof, in a separation and collection device using an air current to separate and collect the polyarylate short fibers forming the polyarylate short fiber bundle; dispersing the separated and collected polyarylate short fibers in water to manufacture short fiber slurry; forming the short fiber slurry into a sheet; and drying and winding the sheet. The method of the present invention can manufacture the wet-laid nonwoven fabric including the polyarylate short fibers by effectively separating and collecting the polyarylate short fibers from the polyarylate short fiber bundle, in which the polyarylate short fibers are bonded to each other on the cut surface thereof, using an air current without damage to the fibers. Also, the wet-laid nonwoven fabric of the present invention has low permittivity, high heat resistance, water resistance, and light resistance and thus is useful as an insulating material for an electronic circuit board or a battery separator material. |
