1. A method for transdermal administration of a drug, comprising:
providing a transdermal drug delivery device for application on skin comprising a multilaminate backing construction disposed away from the skin relative to a primary drug-containing reservoir layer when the device is applied to the skin, the primary drug-containing reservoir layer comprising a primary drug selected from the group consisting of a therapeutic agent and an antagonist, the backing construction comprising: (a) an outer layer comprising an embossable, writable and breathable material, (b) a multilaminate tie layer disposed on the skin proximal surface of the outer layer, wherein the tie layer comprises a secondary drug-containing reservoir layer comprising a secondary drug selected from the group consisting of an antagonist and a therapeutic agent, the secondary drug being different from the primary drug, and (c) a base layer disposed on the skin proximal surface of the tie layer; and applying the device to the skin. |
