An image forming apparatus comprising: at least one photosensitive member; a forming unit comprising at least one developing unit and a multi-beam scanning unit having a first light source and a second light source for each developing unit; a sensor; and a controller configured to: execute mark forming processing to control the forming unit to form a first mark and a second mark on the photosensitive member, the first mark having the leading end of which in one direction along a sub scanning direction is formed with a light beam from the first light source and the trailing end of which is formed with a light beam from the second light source, and the second mark having the leading end of which in one direction is formed with a light beam from the second light source and the trailing end of which is formed with a light beam from the first light source; and execute adjustment processing to adjust at least one of an electrostatic latent image forming interval between the light sources, which is an interval between electrostatic latent images formed on the photosensitive member by the first light source and the second light source, and forming positions of electrostatic latent images by a plurality of light sources, which are positions of electrostatic latent images formed with light beams from the first light source and the second light source, based on a signal output from the sensor according to positions of the leading and trailing ends of the first mark and the leading and trailing ends of the second mark.
