PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor device capable of securing operational reliability while suppressing product cost.SOLUTION: When a short-circuiting failure occurs in at least one FET in any one of first to sixth half bridge inverters 30u1, 30u2, 40v1, 40v2, 50w1 and 50w2, a control circuit of an EPS turns off a first relay 71 or a second relay 72 corresponding to the half bridge inverter where the short-circuiting failure occurs. The control circuit also supplies AC power to all three-phase coils 20u, 20v and 20w in a motor 13 by controlling switching of FETs while utilizing the half bridge inverter where the short-circuiting failure occurs. By continuously driving the motor 13, operational reliability of the EPS is secured. Further, since the motor includes only one sett of three-phase coils, configuration of the motor can be simplified in comparison with the case where a plurality of sets of three-phase coils are provided for attaining multiplexing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
