PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive method of a reflection type display device that can resolve an operation failure owing to long-term negligence or consecutive drive.SOLUTION: A method of driving a reflection type display device having a display medium including at least one or more kinds of electrically responsive materials encapsulated between two opposite substrates in which at least one substrate is translucent and an electrode is formed, respectively, and performing a desired display when a prescribed electric field is applied between two pieces of the substrates comprises: a display rewrite process of rewriting the display by applying the electric field between two pieces of the substrates in accordance with a content of the desired display; and a reset process of alternately performing a first reset step of causing an application of a first electric field between two pieces of the substrates to display a first color and a second reset step of causing an application of a second electric field inverse to the first electric field between two pieces of the substrates to display a second color, at reset timing based on the number of times of repeating the rewriting processes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
