PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow one governor to set different operation speeds for an ascending direction and a descending direction, even in an elevator in which different rated speeds are set for an ascending operation and a descending operation of a car.SOLUTION: A governor 8 includes: a governor sheave 10 around which a speed governor rope 12 is wound; an overspeed switch 35 for cutting off the power of an elevator when a first overspeed is detected; a rope grip mechanism for gripping the speed governor rope 12 when a second overspeed which is faster than the first overspeed is detected; and a rotary weight 32 at which a first movable claw 34 for operating the overspeed switch 35 and a second movable claw 70 for operating the rope grip mechanism are mounted. The overspeed switch 35 is mounted on a movable base 59, and movable base position switching means 44 is provided which switches the position of the movable base 59 in synchronization with the switching of the rotation direction of the governor sheave 10. A distance between the overspeed switch 35 and the first movable claw 34 is variable at descending time and ascending time of a car.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
