PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a method for manufacturing a lithium-containing complex metal oxide; a positive electrode active material; and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a lithium-containing complex metal oxide comprises the steps of: mixing a metal hydroxide including at least one element selected from a group consisting of nickel, cobalt and manganese, and a lithium compound in a dry method into a mixture; and baking the mixture to obtain the lithium-containing complex metal oxide. The lithium compound consists of a mixture including lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide, in which the content of the lithium hydroxide is 0.1-35 mol% to the lithium carbonate.SELECTED DRAWING: None
