PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent that foreign matters such as pebbles intrude into a clearance between a drive belt of an engine and a crank pulley.SOLUTION: This belt protector of an engine has: a crank pulley arranged at an end part of an engine; at least one pulley arranged above the crank pulley; a drive belt which is wound up to the crank pulley and the pulley; a belt cover for covering the crank pulley and the drive belt; and a cover opening part which is formed at an upper side face of the belt cover, and upwardly exposes the pulley and the drive belt which travels around the pulley. The belt cover has: a foreign-matter intrusion prevention first rib which is arranged in the vicinity of the cover opening part, and covers an upper part of the drive belt at a traveling upstream side with respect to the crank pulley; a second rib which is arranged at a lower part of the first rib, and receives foreign matters which fall from the first rib; and a hole part for discharging the foreign matters which are received by the second rib to the outside of the belt cover.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
