PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a background area of an image from becoming hidden by a mask and make a foreground area easier to see when masking the background area and making the foreground area easier to see.SOLUTION: In the example shown in (B1), the inside portion of the image of a "star" is set as a foreground area Pf, and other portions are set as a background area Pb. Furthermore, the brightness of the foreground area Pf is small, and the brightness of the background area Pb is large. In this case, a mask of a brightness "low-middle" is set. The background area Pb is thereby masked gray as shown in (B2), and contrast is created between the foreground area Pf and the background area Pb, and also the background area Pb becomes to be seen through.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
