PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily exchange seawater between an area near a sea surface and an area near a sea bottom.SOLUTION: With a seawater exchange device 1, a first port part 4 is opened and a second port part 5 is closed when an internal water surface 93 in a container body 2 is lower than an external sea surface 92. This causes seawater near the sea surface 92 to flow into the container body 2 and stored. The first port part 4 is closed and the second port part 5 is opened when the internal water surface 93 in the container body 2 is higher than the sea surface 92. This causes the seawater inside the container body 2 to flow out near a sea bottom. The first port part 4 includes a float part 41 that floats on the sea surface 92 outside the container body 2 and has a float opening part under the sea surface 92, the float opening part allowing seawater to flow in. As such, a depth of the float opening part from the sea surface 92 is maintained constant regardless of a tidal level. As a result, vertically circulating flow of seawater may be generated readily, facilitating seawater exchange between an area near the sea surface 92 and that near the sea bottom.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
