PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card reader capable of preventing the reduction of the inductance of a whole coil constituting disturbance magnetic field generation means, even when a sufficient installation space for a coil constituting the disturbance magnetic field generation means is not secured in the vicinity of a card insertion port and in the vicinity of a position through which a magnetic stripe passes.SOLUTION: A card reader 1 includes a card insertion port 3 into which a card 2 having a magnetic stripe 2a is inserted, a card passage through which the card 2 inserted from the card insertion port 3 passes, and disturbance magnetic field generation means 7 which generates a magnetic field for disturbing the illegal reading of magnetic data recorded on the magnetic stripe 2a. The disturbance magnetic field generation means 7 includes a plurality of coils 11 and 12 connected in series and a driving circuit 15 including a capacitor connected in parallel with the plurality of coils 11 and 12 and supplying a current to the plurality of coils 11 and 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
