PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna device and an antenna control method each of which enables time required for searching a satellite to be reduced even when the angle of elevation of an antenna is a high elevation angle.SOLUTION: An antenna device 1 is provided in which control for directing an antenna 11 to the angle of elevation of a satellite to be captured, then driving the antenna 11 into rotation so as to make one round in the azimuth direction and for capturing the satellite on the basis of the radio wave that the antenna 11 has received, is performed mainly by a control unit 13. The control unit 13 performs a first process in which, when the angle of elevation is higher than a first set angle B1, the antenna 11 is directed to an angle of elevation higher than the angle B1 and then driven to rotate in the azimuth direction while being moved up and down in the direction of elevation angle to capture the satellite, and a second process in which, when the satellite cannot be captured in the first process, an operation for changing the angle of elevation to which the antenna 11 is currently directed and an operation for driving the antenna 11 to rotate in the azimuth direction while moving it up and down in the direction of elevation angle are repeated until the satellite is captured.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
