PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear encoder capable of integrally molding a detection head holding portion of a slider housing and a through-hole of a strut, or forming those by milling machining.SOLUTION: A detection head holding portion 13 of a slider housing 11 and a part of a strut 14 have a shape hollowed till a position on the detection head holding portion 13 side before the strut 14 contacts with seals 5 and 6 with thickness larger than the thickness of the strut 14. Between a hollowing portion 15 of the strut 14 and a slider holding portion 12, a long through-hole 16 is bored. In the slider housing 11, the slider holding portion 12, the detection head holding portion 13, the strut 14, and the through-hole 16 are manufacturing by integrally molding metal such as aluminum by lost wax casting, die casting and the like. An FCC 18 connected with a light-receiving portion 29 is connected to an FPC connector 19 mounted on a circuit board 17 through the hollowing portion 15 and the long through-hole 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
