PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip resistor whose resistance value can be reduced.SOLUTION: A chip resistor has a pair of upper surface electrodes 12 formed on an insulation substrate 11, a pair of uppermost surface electrodes 13 formed on the pair of upper surface electrodes 12, a resistor 14 provided between the pair of upper surface electrodes 12 and between the pair of uppermost surface electrodes 13 so as to cover a part of the pair of uppermost surface electrodes 13, and a protection layer 16 for covering a part of the pair of uppermost surface electrodes 13 and the resistor 14. The thickness of the pair of uppermost surface electrodes 13 is set to be larger than the thickness of the pair of upper surface electrodes 12, and the specific resistance of the pair of uppermost surface electrodes 13 is set to be smaller than the specific resistance of the pair of upper surface electrodes 12. The pair of uppermost surface electrodes 13 are connected to a plating layer 18, an end face electrode 17 covers the pair of upper surface electrodes 12 on which the pair of uppermost surface electrodes 13 are not formed, and are connected to the pair of uppermost surface electrodes 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
