PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a communication device to cope with a variety of repeaters by suppressing heat generation when connected with a repeater.SOLUTION: A communication device comprises: a line adjusting unit that, every time the communication device connects with a communication line network via a repeater, detects a current value and voltage value of a line formed between the communication device and the repeater (step S3), and adjusts the impedance of the line so that the detected current value and voltage value accord with a current value and voltage value on a characteristic curve determining relation between the current value and voltage value within a range satisfying a standard (steps S6 and S10); and a control unit that changes the characteristic curve in the range satisfying the standard so as to reduce power consumption on the line if the current value detected by the line adjusting unit is larger than a threshold value (step S7).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
