PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine with an exhaust gas turbocharger, capable of ensuring necessary load responsiveness and suppressing the risk of increasing needless pumping loss.SOLUTION: An engine with an exhaust gas turbocharger comprises: an exhaust bypass passage connected to an exhaust passage and bypassing a turbine of the exhaust gas turbocharger;a wastegate valve opening and closing the exhaust gas bypass passage; and a throttle valve provided in an intake passage. The engine with the exhaust gas turbocharger comprises: a first pressure sensor and a second pressure sensor provided upstream of the throttle valve and downstream of the throttle valve in the intake passage, respectively; and valve opening/closing control means calculating a pressure difference from pressure values from the first pressure sensor and the second pressure sensor, actuating the wastegate valve to close the exhaust bypass passage if the pressure difference is smaller than a threshold, and actuating the wastegate valve to open the exhaust gas bypass passage if the pressure difference is greater than the threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
