PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of sludge heating in a digestion tank while suppressing an increase in environmental load and saving energy.SOLUTION: A sludge digestion system 1 comprises a digestion tank 2 and a heating system 3 for the digestion tank. The heating system 3 for the digestion tank comprises: a first heating device 11 heating a heat medium using renewable energy as a heat source; a second heating device 12 having a heat pump and heating a heat medium using at least one of unused heat energy and renewable energy as a heat source; and a heat exchanger 14 heating sludge of the digestion tank 2 by heat exchange between the sludge of the digestion tank 2 and at least one of the heat medium heated by the first heating device 11 and the heat medium heated by the second heating device 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
