PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of molding a styrene resin foam having good external appearance that, even when a polymer type flame retardant is used, not only imparts flame retardancy and environmental friendliness but also prevents the decomposition of the polymer type flame retardant under an extrusion condition.SOLUTION: A flame retardant composition according to the present invention is obtained by kneading a first styrene resin, a brominated styrene-butadiene block polymer, and a stabilizer under conditions where the barrel temperature of an extruder is 180°C or less and the specific energy is 0.50 kWh/kg, and the flame retardant composition has a 5% weight loss temperature measured by thermogravimetric analysis of 255°C or more and 270°C or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
