The present invention relates to a wrist step detection device to correctly detect a wrist step of a user based on a plurality of acceleration signals, and a method thereof. According to embodiments of the present invention, the wrist step detection device comprises an acceleration sensor, a control unit, and a display unit. The acceleration sensor detects a plurality of acceleration signals corresponding to a plurality of the axial directions. The control unit detects a plurality of wrist step feature points corresponding to the acceleration signals, and also detects time intervals among the wrist step feature points. In addition, the control unit selects one of the acceleration signals based on a standard deviation of the time intervals, and detects wrist steps corresponding to the selected acceleration signal. The display unit displays the wrist steps. |
