The present invention relates to a method for preparing an organometallic compound nanocatalyst for removing volatile organic compounds and, more specifically, to a method for preparing an organometallic compound nanocatalyst for removing volatile organic compounds, the method being capable of lowering the volatile organic compounds in various polymers using the catalyst. The method comprises the steps of: (1) forming a metal compound in nanoscale by preparing a metal precursor solution and then adding a neutralizing agent to the solution, followed by reaction; (2) obtaining metal compound nanoparticles by removing the solvent from the solution, which has gone through the step (1), followed by drying; (3) performing primary surface modification of the metal compound nanoparticles by dispersing the metal compound nanoparticles, obtained in the step (2), in a polar solvent, and then adding an organic carboxylic acid not containing a hydroxyl group thereto, followed by reaction; (4) performing secondary surface modification of the metal compound nanoparticles by adding hydroxyl carboxylic acid to the solution, which has gone through the step (3), followed by reaction; and (5) collecting the solvent from the solution, which has gone through the step (4). |
