PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To project an image on a road surface so that a driver grasps a proper inter-vehicle distance.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle display device comprises a front proper inter-vehicle distance calculation part 11 for calculating a front proper inter-vehicle distance between its own vehicle and a preceding vehicle, an image forming part 19 for forming an image related to the front proper inter-vehicle distance calculated by the front proper inter-vehicle distance calculation part, a front image projection part 21 for projecting the image formed by the image forming part on a road surface in front of its own vehicle, at least one of an operation state determination part 50 for determining an operation state of a driver of its own vehicle and a vehicle state determination part 30 for determining a vehicle state of its own vehicle and its own vehicle speed detection part 16 for detecting a speed of its own vehicle. The front proper inter-vehicle distance calculation part 11 calculates the front proper inter-vehicle distance on the basis of at least one of the operation state determined by the operation state determination part 50 and the vehicle state determined by the vehicle state determination part 30 and the speed of its own vehicle detected by the its own vehicle speed detection part 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
