PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a method for producing a biodiesel fuel, in which handling of a catalyst is facilitated, exhaust heat is utilized to reduce a production cost effectively, and is suitable for practicality.SOLUTION: The method for producing the biodiesel fuel comprises a step of subjecting oils and fats and methanol to an ester interchange reaction in the presence of a base catalyst. The ester interchange reaction is performed by using quick lime powder as the base catalyst under such a heating condition that warm water having 80°C or higher temperature is used. The warm waste water obtained by utilizing the exhaust heat to be generated at an iron factory and other factories is used as the warm water. An equivalent ratio of the methanol to the oils and fats (methanol/oils and fats) is 1.1-4 times and a molar ratio of the quick lime powder being the base catalyst to the oils and fats is 0.2-0.7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
