PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device including a protective element mounted therein, the protective element being available at low cost.SOLUTION: A light emitting device 1 includes: a substrate 2; a protective element 3 for protecting a light emitting element 5 mounted on the upper face of the substrate from overvoltage; and at least two or more lids 4 covering above the protective element. Each lid includes a top plate part 8 and a leg part 9. The top plate part is a portion covering the upper part of the protective element and located above the leg part. The light emitting device also includes a plurality of light emitting elements mounted on the upper face of each lid and coated with a phosphor layer 6, and the lids, the light emitting elements, the phosphor layer and the upper face of the substrate are coated with a sealing member 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
