PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a camera as to easily grasp a relation between a live view image and a subject at all the time regardless of a direction of a vari-angle monitor when performing omnidirectional imaging with a digital camera including the vari-angle monitor.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: imaging means for capturing a subject image; a fixed or removable omnidirectional optical system which causes the imaging means to make the subject image of a full circumference at 360° incident as a circular or annular omnidirectional image; panoramic deployment means for deploying the circular or annular omnidirectional image captured by the imaging means via the omnidirectional optical system into a panoramic image; a movable monitor; and direction detection means for detecting a direction of the movable monitor relative to the imaging means. When capturing a circular or annular omnidirectional image, the panoramic deployment means determines a direction to be a center of the image in deploying the circular or annular omnidirectional image in a panoramic manner in accordance with the relative direction detected by the direction detection means and performs the panoramic deployment in such a manner that the determined direction comes to the center, and the movable monitor displays the panoramic image generated by the panoramic deployment means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
