PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of bringing a transportation path into an open state at a printing position without widening a distance between individual printing positions by two print heads.SOLUTION: A printer 1 comprises: a first printing section 5 and a second printing section 6 performing printing at printing positions P1 and P2; and a first printing section movement mechanism 26. The first printing section 5 is rotated between a transportation path opposite attitude 5A where a medium transportation path 2 is supported by a rotation support shaft 25 in a rotatable manner and a head surface 11a of a first print head 11 faces the medium transportation path 2 and a transportation path open attitude 5B where the head surface 11a is directed ahead Y1 of the printer 1. The first printing section movement mechanism 26 moves the first printing section 5 and the rotation support shaft 25 between an interference position A where the first printing section 5 and the second printing section 6 interfere with each other in the transportation path open attitude 5B and a non-interference position B where the first printing section 5 and the second printing section 6 do not interfere with each other. The first printing section 5 performs the printing at the interference position A, and is disposed at the non-interference position B and opens the medium transportation path 2 in the transportation path open attitude 5B.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
