The present invention relates to a cleaner. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the cleaner comprises: a main body to generate a suction force; and a connection unit to transfer the suction force generated by the main body to a suction part. The main body comprises: a battery; a fan to generate the suction force by rotation; and a fan drive unit to drive the fan based on inputted AC power when operating in an AC power mode, and drive the fan based on DC power stored in the battery when operating in a DC power mode. The drive unit varies an output of a motor driving the fan in proportion to a distance between the main body and the connection unit. Accordingly, power consumption of the battery can be reduced. |
