According to an embodiment of the present invention, a linear compressor comprises: a shell coupled to a suction inlet through which refrigerant is introduced and a discharge outlet through which the refrigerant is discharged; a cylinder disposed within the shell to accommodate a piston reciprocated in an axial direction of the shell to compress the refrigerant introduced through the suction inlet; a frame accommodating the cylinder, and fixedly mounted inside the shell; and a discharge cover coupled to a front surface of the frame to cover the front of the cylinder, and discharging the refrigerant compressed by the piston to the discharge outlet. A front surface of the cylinder facing the discharge cover is arranged to be spaced from the discharged cover at a predetermined distance.
