622333 A headgear assembly is disclosed for maintaining a frame and cushion of a respiratory mask assembly in position on a patient user’s face. The assembly is constructed from a soft, flexible material and has two side portions and a rear portion between the side portions. Each side portion includes an upper side strap (22) to be located above the ear and eye of a user, and a lower side strap (24) to be located below the ear and eye of a user. The upper (22) and lower (24) side straps are connectable to a frame. The rear portion has a stiffening layer (46) which maintains the position of respective upper (22) and lower (24) side straps of the side portions spaced from the user’s ears. |
