Disclosed is a wireless communication system wherein optimum transmission power control is performed with respect to a periodic SRS and an aperiodic SRS. In the radio communication system, a mobile station apparatus (1) transmits first reference signals or second reference signals to a base station apparatus (3). The base station apparatus (3) notifies the mobile station apparatus (1) of first parameters used for setting transmission power with respect to transmission of the first reference signals, and second parameters used for setting transmission power with respect to transmission of the second reference signals. The mobile station apparatus (1) sets the transmission power for the transmission of the first reference signals using the first parameters, and also sets the transmission power for the transmission of the second reference signals using the second parameters.
