<p>Coolant comprises a heat exchange fluid such as water and a component arranged to lower the freezing temperature of the heat exchange fluid. The coolant is formed from a mixture of water and 1,3-propanediol. The proportion of water in the fluid is less than 45 mass%. An independent claim is included for manufacturing the coolant, comprising forming a mixture comprising 30-45% of water and 60-67% of 1,3-propanediol and further comprising sebacic acid, where the sebacic acid is solubilized prior to being mixed with the 1,3-propanediol.</p> |
