Sacrificial and aqueous anti-graffiti coating composition comprises a film-forming acrylic resin and a thickening agent with the weight ratio of 10-80. An independent claim is included for temporarily protecting a surface against a graffiti including: applying a layer of an aqueous coating composition on a to-be protected surface; drying to form a sacrificial anti-graffiti coating; and totally or partially removing the coating with warm water under pressure.
