PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device that can accurately and easily determine a position of a light-shielding plate relative to a display pixel area of a liquid crystal panel element.SOLUTION: A projection type display device projects a video displayed on a liquid crystal panel element to the outside, and includes: a holding part that holds the liquid crystal panel element; a light-shielding plate 530 that regulates a display area of the liquid crystal panel element; and positioning members 521 to 523 that are arranged on the holding part side by side in a first direction and parallel to either one of the sides of the liquid crystal panel element, in contact with the light-shielding plate 530, and regulate the position of the light-shielding plate 530 relative to the liquid crystal panel element. |
