PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an electric vehicle, the device capable of determining the slope of a road during traveling without providing special slope detection means.SOLUTION: A control device for an electric vehicle 10 is provided, the electric vehicle 10 including a motor 6 for driving using electric power stored in a battery 4 as the power source. The control device for the electric vehicle 10 includes: motor workload calculation means 1A for calculating a motor workload Pm in a prescribed time by integrating the motor workload of the motor 6; effective electric power amount calculation means 1B for calculating an effective electric power amount Pe in the prescribed time by integrating amounts of effective electric power supplied from the battery 4 to the motor 6 to be effectively used for an operation of the motor 6; and slope determination means 1C for determining a slope of a road 20 where the vehicle 10 is traveling on the basis of a comparison between the motor workload Pm in the prescribed time and the effective electric power amount Pe in the prescribed time. |
